going to the fete
Tonight I will be at the Fete de la Musique, having fun. I messaged S about this earlier this week - I will be going with our friend JP, who wants to watch Bamboo and Sugarfree - and she almost died of envy because she will only be returning to Manila in the middle of July. I checked out the final list of bands, courtesy of Gabs, and received both good and bad news: Sugarfree will be playing, but Bamboo will not. As I have a deep and abiding love for Bamboo - one that began back in his Rivermaya days - this is a huge disappointment. I don't watch music gigs often - when I do go out at night, it's either to drink or to drink-and-dance - so I'd hoped to catch Bamboo tonight. Ah, well - I suppose I'll have to give my nightlife a little bit of a makeover, if I want to indulge in all the things that please me. So many things to enjoy, so little time.Is anyone else going? I'll be moving around and occasionally escaping to Starbucks or Laya's office to get some quiet - I don't do the unrelenting-barrage-of-noise so well - but we can meet up briefly and chill in front of one of the stages.
I really need to start growing up; I swear I'm acting like I'm seventeen again.
[EDIT, 2AM Sunday: Okay, so, Fete? Apparently not so good an idea for people who (a) are mildly claustrophobic and (b) deathly afraid of big crowds. I should have thought of this earlier, but unfortunately I was all "Whee, music festival!" and forgot about the crowd factor.
On the other hand, I did get a brief soundbite from Junior Kilat, which kind of made my night. I'm still figuring out how to pronounce his name, though. Is it Junior KI-lat or Junior Ki-LAT?]
